Change the World, Make History
How to Craft Your Legacy in 12 months
Who this is for? An exclusive group of no more than five or six elite CEOs and business owners at the pinnacle of their life.
Why would you do this? You want to build something new and ground-breaking for your family, your business, your industry, your country or the world.
Or maybe you have a philanthropic foundation, but it hasn’t reached the scale or made the impact you desire.
Perhaps your foundation started well, but – being honest with yourself – its performance is tailing off and you need to inject it with innovative ideas and energy.
Above all you want your legacy to be long-lasting. After all, it’s the pinnacle of your life’s work. It’s what you will leave behind.
What is the Legacy Programme? An intensive 12-month programme, mentoring with our CEO Board, with our Founders and with worldclass icons as Guest Mentors.
Who are the Guest Mentors? The Guest Mentors are household names, men and women who’ve already achieved a staggering amount. Click here to read the bios of our Guest Mentors.

What will the results be? What’s the outcome? Think of this like collaborating with an architect. You wouldn’t build a house without a detailed blueprint. So through the year we’ll help you craft a practical executable blueprint that will help deliver your living enduring legacy. The Institute can also help you to implement the plan if you wish.
How does this work? Participants work closely with our CEO Board and the three members of the Executive Board over the course of 12 months. We will all work together face-to-face at three live retreats during the Legacy Programme.
During the retreats you will present your evolving legacy concept and receive detailed step-by-step feedback and advice from your Institute mentors. Our project managers and documentary makers will work with you to ensure everything is captured and documented during the year.
You will also spend a limited time with each of our three Guest Mentors, who will discuss and explore your legacies, giving you essential insights and personal feedback.
Where are the live retreats? We are partnering with Virgin Unite, the philanthropic arm of the Virgin Group, to bring you the live retreats. A sample programme will be include time at each of the following retreats:
- Virgin’s exclusive Kasbah Tamadot, in Morocco’s Atlas mountains, in the Fall
- Ulusaba, Sir Richard Branson’s private game reserve, in Africa, in Spring
- Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson’s island home, in Summer
How much help do I get? When you become a member of the Legacy Institute you become part of a tight-knit ecosystem. You’ll meet and work with everyone at various times and you can call on any of the Institute team at any time to help you build your legacy.
How much time do I get with the Guest Mentors? You’ll meet and work with each of the Guest Mentors at the live retreats and – subject to their frenetic schedules – you may have opportunities to connect with them later in the year.
How much personal attention do I get? With one of the CEO Board members you’ll have a unique one-on-one relationship over the 12 months of the programme. Your CEO Board mentor will work up front and personal with you to help you make your legacy vision a reality. But actually you can interact with any of the CEO Board members at any time. In fact they will work in concert on your legacy when we come together at the live retreats.
What other support is there? You have the personal support of a Chief-of-Staff throughout the year, to help you keep your legacy project on track, and you’ll work regularly with all members of the Executive Board.
What happens at the end of the 12 months? You continue to execute and implement your legacy project, either with your in-house team, or we can help you to implement your legacy, if you wish.
